Product Description
It is made from Solid CNC machined 6061 Billet w/ Black Anodized finish. For the serious shooter on a tight budget. This spacer is for the guy who already owns a 9mm buffer like the one offered by RRA or Colt and doesn't want to replace it with another $60-$90 custom buffer. The ST-9BS is designed to limit the travel of your 9mm bolt. The 9mm cartridge isn't near the length of a 223/5.56 cartridge so it doesn't need the same amount travel. You are just wasting energy and creating more wear and tear on your expensive 9mm AR15. It helps eliminate the chance of breaking bolt catches. With the spacer installed your bolt doesn't have a running head start to slam into the back of your bolt catch and break it off or damage your lower receiver. It also makes for a much smoother shooting gun. The less distance the bolt has to travel means you are going to have quicker follow up shots. The ST-9BS also increases spring pressure, which means a little less gas in your face and more out of the muzzle. To Install the ST-9BS spacer you Simply remove your buffer and spring. Install the ST-9BS on the end of your spring like you would with a buffer. Drop the complete unit "ST-9BS, Buffer Spring, and Buffer" into the buffer tube and start shooting again. The ST-9BS is ONLY compatible with 9mm! The ST-9BS will go Perfect with the ST-T2 tungsten buffers we offer but is NOT compatible with the ST-9X or ANY other extended 9mm buffers on the Market.

If running a 9mm buy this
I built a 9mm AR with a CMMG BCG and CMMG heavy buffer. I knew about the BCG overtravel breaking bolt catches but the CMMG information on the heavy buffer said you wouldn't need a spacer using their buffer. After 300 rds I bent (not broken yet) the bolt catch. Most bolt catches are at least $10 so buy the spacer for $15 and save the replacement of your bolt catch before it breaks or bends.

Buffer Spacer Works
Installed in dedicated 9mm build paired with standard length 9mm heavy buffer and dedicated hold open mag well block. Works perfectly. Only allows bolt to travel just past homd open to minimize wear on parts. Very pleased with purchase. ST.

needs a little more development
No so good here. I found that the 'spacer' part is fine, BUT - the 'nub' that the spring seats on is too long. The 'bumper' on the heavy buffer would contact the spacer before the bolt would get beyond the bolt catch, therfore, the bolt would not 'hold open' after last round. And - when I get around to cutting off about half of the "nub', I'm also going to machine a groove at o"clock so I can slide it past the buffer detent without having to depress it. The buffer will catch it anyways, it will make it a much easier to install. If I spill the beans on what I wound up using for a spacer, they wont post my reveiew. Maybe its the Palmetto State Armory pistol buffer tube, but I dought it.
